Firstly I would like to start this month by remembering two special people. I hope Cynthia won't mind me saying but as you all know the lovely Jack recently passed away. We would like to thank Cynthia and her lovely family for the lovely donation they made to LPF. Also a gentleman by the name of Tony King passed away. Unfortunately we didn't know Tony but we met his wife at the vets before whilst on a visit with Melvin. Tony was dog mad and his wife and daughter came to the shop recently to make a donation. Thank you again to both families and thank you for thinking of LPF. God Bless Tony and Jack xx
Thank you to everybody who has worked their butts off this month. It's been a another extremely busy month and we are currently taking in an animal daily :)
LPF Shop:
We have got a lot of sorting done at the other end. There is still some summer stuff to be sorted and lots of winter stuff but we are definately getting through it. Dean has worked hard this week tidying the area down there so please keep it clean and tidy.
People are still saying how nice the shop is looking aswell as clean and fresh. Please make sure we continue this. We have had several visits from other charities too who have been very complimentary. There is still some washing to do but the majority of things are being cleaned before they go out on the rails.
We have a couple of new volunteers so please say hello to them when you meet them. There is Nicole who is in on a Tuesday and Saturday, Pam who is in on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Ella who is in on a Saturday afternoon.
This week was slightly quieter but could be due to the first lovely week of weather. Could I ask you to be on the look out for any furniture. We seemed to have sold everything we displayed items on and they are building up on the floor again. We would like to keep the floor clear so it's easy to sweep and mop so if you see any units or tables please give us a shout.
LPF Animals:
On top of the shop we have been extremely busy with animals again - Here's a quick update.
Jenny a Podenco from Bullas has been adopted along with another Podenco we have picked up named Abel and they will both travel to the UK on June 1st.
Aron another Podenco has been adopted and is being castrated tomorrow - He will be travelling to the UK in a couple of weeks.
Ronda was spayed and is up for adoption. She is in a foster home but she is a big beautiful girl and we hope we can find a home soon.
Sweep another of the puppies from the bin has been adopted in Spain. Mary another Podenco has been adopted in Malaga via SOS Animals.
Saffron is doing well and is now up for adoption - he is a kitten who is now 11 weeks old.
We took another litter of 3 kittens from a lovely lady Jeanie who had a snake after them. Chelsea has already been reserved and Toby and Bradley are available for adoption.

Alfred is a gorgeous Podenco picked up on Friday night. He is so exhausted he cannot stand. His blood tests all came back negative but he will go to the vets again tomorrow to check we haven't missed anything. He is really stunning and only 8 months old.
Kira a beautiful little kitten in a foster home and has been adopted. She will travel to the other side of Lorca on the 1st June to her new home.
Pat the Cat has been picked up today - He is very sick and off to the vets tomorrow. He is about 8 weeks old and so friendly. Everything we have done to him today and he hasn't made a sound or lashed out. Bless his little cottons. I'm sure when he's on the mend though he is going to be a right little bruiser :)
Kinkin is another dog returned thanks to the LPF Microchip scanner that was donated to us. Saved us hours of running around. Kinkin actually came and found me at the shop!
2 more kittens have been picked up and are in a foster home. i am now realising people will say anything and use emotional blackmail for you to take their animals!! Sadly they are not friendly at all so they needs lots of work. They are in a foster home but once Toby and Bradley are gone they will come here so they learn to place nice with Humans.
I think that it is for now on the animal front - Oh no... We were brought a puppy yesterday who was rather rapidly whisked off by Nicole!! She is smitten with him and has named him Gromitt

LPF Events:
Sponsored walk was fun and mum completed it even with her bad hip. She is now doing a sponsored slim as she has to lose weight before her Operation. All monies raised will go to LPF and i'm sure she won't mind me telling you she did rather well last week. She is on a 4 days on and 3 days off diet plan which she stuck to really well and even on her days off she has been very good :)
On the race night we raised over €550 euros which was amazing. Sadly the turnout from LPF was a little disappointing but we got to meet some new people and still had a good evening..
The Golf Day was awesome and thank you to those that came to join us. Gavin and Mark raised €520 euros for LPF and they also raised money for the AECC. It was a great day and a big special thank you to Neil who walked the whole way with the guys and has signed himself up for next year to do it all again :)

On 5th July we are holding a Murder Mystery Dinner at Bocados for 10.00 euros per person - Actors have been booked and the price includes a 3 course meal. Please note we already have nearly 60 people booked so if you are coming please book directly with Mike or with me as places are filling fast!!
We are collecting bits to do another Auction but we are still awaiting some paperwork to be able to advertise thoroughly before setting a date.
We will be having a break from events for a while as there has been a lot recently but we will be doing an evening treasure hunt in the summer and are hoping to do an event for Halloween.
Facebook has had a fair bit added to it this weekend, so now on to the website which is very out of date.
If anybody has any suggestions on improvements in the shop, or anything they would like to see done, any events etc please let either Me, Angie, Jan or Nicky know.
Thanks again to everybody that has worked so hard over the last few weeks xxx
