News March & April

Well it's been a while but here is an update on what has been going on, where LPF are now and what the future holds for LPF.  We will do a monthly update from now on to keep everybody updated.

LPF Shop:
Well as most of you know we have moved into the shop over the last 2 weeks.  It has been busy with lots of new people who didn't know we were there coming in to see us.  We will be opening Monday to Saturday 10.00am to 4.00pm and we will have an official opening soon.  Some people have commented they thought we were no longer there as they hadn't seen us at the other end but when we have an official opening date we will be able to put signs up advising where we are.
We have had lots of donated items which is great.
The shop itself is looking really nice and lots of people have said how nice it is.  Lots of the clothes that have been in storage for a long time are being washed before they go out to keep everything lovely and fresh.  I will make some signs for the clothes as they have been sorted into sizes to make it easier for everybody to look through.
Everybody has worked really hard but we need to thank John and Vicky who are from animal association A.D.A.M. in Campoverde for all their help with the paperwork side of things and several trips to various Town Halls, Les for building our lovely counter and putting up the clothes racks and some shelves, Glenn from Unos nextdoor for actually donating the clothes wall racks, Juan and Antonio who were our builder and electrician as they did a great job, Paul the window cleaner who has offered to clean our windows every 2-3 weeks for free.  I can't mention everybody as lots of people have worked so hard to get the shop ready and we are very greatfull for everything you have all done.
We will be holding a meeting for everybody shortly that wants to be involved with LPF and the shop so everybody knows exactly what is going on.  A date will be set and sent to everybody.

LPF Animals:
On top of the shop we have been extremely busy with animals - Here's a quick update.
Eva, Alfie, and Suso all travelled to their new homes in the UK in March
 Suso

Monty, Melvin, Gaby, Toffee, were all re-homed in Spain in March and we spayed 3 more Feral Cats in March.

Molly, Ella, Terri and Star are 4 of the 8 Bullas Podencos we rescued back in March and they travelled to their new homes in the UK in April.
Tina another of the Bullas Podencos travels to her new home in Holland next week.

We rescued 7 x 4 days old Pups who were found in a rubbish bin and we bottled fed them until they were ready to be re-homed - We are pleased to say with the help of a friend called Lynn that Arthur, Bertha, Sooty, Abbie and Kerri have all been re-homed and Sweep and Arthur 2 are still waiting.

We rescued 6 x 3 week old big pups and am pleased to say Jessie, Bluebell, Lou Lou, Benson, Lilly and Smudge have all been re-homed this month - Again with the help of Lynn.

We have another Podenco named Abel who has been rescued and we are in the process of helping him back to full health before we look for a home for him.

Saeta who was rescued from death row in a perrera and then had a massive operation on her leg has been adopted this week in Spain.  She is beautiful and we are very happy for her.  Thank you to Joy and Peter who fostered her and nursed her back to health, we are very greatful.

In April we have also helped a puppy named Chai Lai with his vaccinations, a dog named called Ronda is being spayed tomorrow, and Jenny another of the Bullas girls is being spayed on Friday.

A kitten named Saffron was picked up by Karen and Elizabeth and he is making a wonderful recovery - From being so ill he is a little prince who is so loving.  He is very special and a home may be sought for him.

Dillan is still in in his foster home and he is very happy there but they don't want the expense of an extra dog so although they love him we need to find him a permanent home.
Wilbert is also up for adoption even though mum adores him so i'm sure she isn't too bothered if a home isn't found in a hurry.

And lastly we had a microchip scanner bought and donated to us from Alfies parents in the UK - So far we have returned 3 dogs to their correct owner as they were microchipped :)  This has saved us a massive amount of time instead of going to and from the vets it's one quick phone call and arrangements can be made to return the dog.

LPF Events:
We are doing a 5k Sponsored walk on Sunday 6th May - If anybody wants to come and join us we are actually doing our walk on some waste ground away from the main roads and public footpaths as we wanted to take of the dogs we have rescued over the years.  We are meeting at CK1 in Via Park III (where the treasure hunt was held) at 9.00am to start the walk around 9.30 before it gets to hot.  More information and sponsorship forms are at the shop.

On Thursday 10th May we are holding a race night at CK1 - I need numbers of those who can attend asap please.  Should be a fun night and you can still be a horse owner of a jockey for 3.00 euros.  Every winning owner and Jockey of each race will win a bottle of spirits.  Please see Marie or Angela at the shop if you need more details.

On Sunday 20th May Gavin and Mark are doing another sponsored Golf Day - They will be playing 101 holes at Vista Belle Gold Course so please come down and support them - We also need Rakers, Scorers and Markers etc for the day.  And it will continue in the evening at Breakaways Bar in Villa Martin with live music from the Pinnacles.
They will be teeing off around 6am and playing non-stop until all 101 holes are played.  Last year was a great day and we hope this year will be better - Please come down and support them throughout the day.

On 5th July we are holding a Murder Mystery Dinner at Bocados for 10.00 euros per person - Actors have been booked and the price includes a 3 course meal - Please book with me or with Mike directly.

Thank you to the Gurlz who worked their socks off at the St Georges event in PlayaFlamenca and raised over 350.00euros.  And they also worked at the St Patricks Market inLos Montesinos and did a great TV Interview :)

If anybody has any suggestions on improvements in the shop, or anything they would like to see done, any events etc please let either Me, Angie, Jan or Nicky know.

Thanks again to everybody that has worked so hard over the last few weeks xxx
