This Weeks Update - 30th November 2011
Hello All,
Well unfortunately Monday was rained off but wednesday was a better day and another 16 calendars have been sold. Lots of donations of items for the stall have still been coming in which is great news. Galina is a new supporter of LPF and has made some beautiful cat beds for us to sell.
But to boost up the fund raising we have lots of events coming up. December will be a very busy month. Please take note of the following dates and let me know if you can help:
Wednesday 7th December - LPF Auction, Christmas Lunch and Giant Christmas at Bocados in Playa Flamenca
Thursday 8th December - Kingfisher Event in Torrevieja (Tombola and Raffle)
Saturday 10th December - Tombola and Christmas Fayre at PJ's in Campoverde
Sunday 11th December - Helps for Heroes Tombola in Campoverde
Thursday 15th December - LPF Christmas Dinner at Bocados in Playa Flamenca
More details of each event will follow.
Animals Update:
Yet another super busy week with the animals...
There is a huge amount of coverage of the beagle story online and on TV. Unfortunately LPF haven't been mentioned yet but Chantelle Marin will be making us some wonderful videos and we have written to lots of newspapers.
Cara the kitten who is now a boy will be sticking with the name Cara. He doesn't answer to anything else, but today we found he had twisted his leg further. We called the vet and was told we couldn't have an appt with the Specialist until Friday, so we agreed to see our vet later this evening. I am so pleased to say that when they realised who the cat was and that it was for LPF they phoned us straight back and fitted us in. Cara has got them all intrigued and it's definately a sign that me and Mum spend way too much time at the vets, we are their best customers!! :)
We have had a cat named Candy spayed today - She is a homeless cat but is not ferral. She has had human contact before so she has obviously been abandoned. She is about 8 months old and so gentle and friendly. I hope we can find her a home soon before the winter.
Borris the Beagle has been re-homed to the most wonderful home. A lady contacted us asking for a Lab Beagle and on the same day another lady contacted us advising they had a Beagle that had been found and needed a new home. It was a lovely introduction and Borris was straight at home, along with a new girlfriend who was waiting for him :)
Jerry Lee will be taken in by another organisation called SOS Animals UK who will transport him to the UK for adoption.
We have a couple of litters of puppies that need adopting - some are only a week old and not ready just yet, the other litter is 4 weeks old and should be ready in 3/4 weeks.
We are still looking for new homes for Olly and Polly - They are 2 kittens that are 11 weeks old. Please let us know if you know anybody wanting a kitten.
Events update:
We have started collecting Raffle prizes for our Christmas Raffle on the 7th December. Nicky has been doing a great job of wrapping and packaging some lovely gifts for various raffles. If you know anyone or have anything that you would like to donate please let me know. Please start sweet talking your beauty salons and your favourite bars and restaurants for vouchers. Any wine, chocolates, spirits or anything else you can think of would be great!!
We will be attending the F1 Event in Torrevieja on the 8th December. We need lots of people to attend as various jobs will be needing extra hands. They are expecting a huge amount of Spectators as Adrian Sutil will be there along with the new Sahara Force India F1 Car, a simulator so you can 'drive' the car and lots of other stuff going on throughout the day.
We will be attending a Christmas Fayre on the 10th December down in Campoverde. Again we will need any prizes or Christmas items that you have spare.
We are also attending an event for Help the Heroes on the 11th December down in Campoverde. Again we will need prizes.
Tony is still in need of items for the Charity Auction on the 7th December, the day of the LPF Lunch and Raffle - Again if you have anything you would like to Auction please speak with Tony at the stall on a Monday or Wednesday. They need lots of items so please get in contact - we would love this to be a great 1st Auction so people will come back for the next one!!
LPF Christmas Evening Meal and Entertainment is on the 15th December. It is booked at Bocados, if you need the menu sent out again please let me know. It is 16.00 euros per person (inc 1/2 btl wine) and 2.00 euros will go towards LPF. If you have any special requirements please let me know. We have booked the wonderfully talented Celena Deans and we will be holding a raffle on the night too. If you would like a table booked please contact me or you can book directly with Bocados by calling tel no 966733060.

So I think that's it for now but as always if I have missed anything please let me know. Have a good weekend and see you on Monday.
